A Katsina senior magistrate court has remanded one Sani Salisu in prison for allegedly attacking and stabbing a 40-year-old man to death.

The deceased, Abdurahman Sani of Kwari quarters in Daura town, was allegedly hacked to death after he visited his girlfriend, one Amina Suleiman, in the town.

The accused person, who is facing a culpable homicide charge, was said to have on November 16 attacked the deceased when he came to Kururubai area of the town to visit his (Abdulrahman’s) girlfriend. The police first information report deposited in the court said the girlfriend Amina saw the accused hacking down her guest.

The presiding magistrate, Fadila Dikko, said the case was only brought in for mention as the court had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter and adjourned it to January 22, 2019 pending legal advice from the Ministry of Justice.
