An Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan, on Monday, ordered the remand of one Ibrahim Abiala, 19, who is standing trial for alleged murder.

The court ordered that Abiala, whose address was not provided, should be held in a correctional centre.

The magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, who did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction, directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice and adjourned the case until April 24, for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 26, at 8.30pm, at Aleshinloye market area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant unlawfully caused the death of one Musa Mohammadu by stabbing him in his back.

Adegbenro said the offence contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
