Court sentences farmer to bush cutting for N650 cocoa beans theft

A chief magistrate court in Ondo town, Ondo State, has ordered a 40-year-old farmer, Lomi Adefusi, to cut a thick bush for stealing cocoa beans worth N650

Adefusi was arraigned before the court on a one count charge of stealing.

The prosecution told the court that the defendant  stole the farm crop belonging to one Mustapha  Bolarinwa on September 23, 2019.

Adefusi confessed to stealing the crop and appealed to the court to forgive him.

The magistrate, Mrs Odenusi Fadeyi, only ordered Adefusi to cut a thick bush as a punishment and struck out the case.
