Michael Jackson had omitted his father from his will and named his long time associates and lawyer, John Branca and music executive, John McClain as executors of his will, decisions his father contested in a lengthy Los Angeles court hearing.

The late Michael and his father, Joe, have had a difficult relationship, with Michael claiming the sight of his tough father made him sick as a child and sometimes as an adult.

Joe Jackson went to court to challenge his exclusion from the will and object to the executors but the Superior Court Judge, Mitchell Beckloff, said though Joe was not named in the will, he could still pursue a motion to receive family allowance because he claims his son had been supporting him but had no say in the matter of the executors or his exclusion from the will.

In a related development, the late star’s mother, Katherine had decided to withdraw her suit challenging the appointment of the executors. In a statement issued by her lawyer, she said she is no longer interested in challenging the appointment of Branca and McClain as executors of Jackson’s will even though she has the right to do so.
