Three housewives refused to allow the COVID -19 response team to collect their samples as the exercise to collect fluid samples commenced in Abaji Metropolis yesterday.

City News observed that the three women, were passing by the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, when they were stopped and asked to register their names.

After registering their names, the COVID -19 response team asked them to come forward for their samples to be taken, but they refused, claiming they were fasting.

All efforts to convince them that taking of the samples does not affect their fasting fell on deaf ears as they left the venue.

Speaking to our reporter, the Head of the Disease Control of Unit of the Public Health Department of the FCTA Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr. Sadiq Abdulrahman, said the sample taking was mandatory and that it was for public good for everybody to be screened.
