COVID-19: Air Force 57th anniversary to hold without military parade
The minister was represented by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will mark its 57th anniversary without the usual tradition of military parade.
The Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), who disclosed this in his speech on Wednesday during a seminar held at the NAF Tactical Air Command base in Makurdi, said the restriction was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, said the seminar was part of activities marking this year’s anniversary planned in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
Amao stressed the need for a disciplined workforce which he said remained essential for combat readiness while bolstering morale of personnel and welfare among others.
