COVID-19: ASUU distributes sanitizers, face masks

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Bauchi State Branch has distributed hand sanitizers and face masks to various trade associations and groups to support the fight against coronavirus in the state.

ASUU Zonal Coordinator in charge of Bauchi Zone, Prof Lawan Abubakar, who represented the ASUU’s president at the distribution in Bauchi,   said the gesture was part of the body’s contribution towards preventing and containing the spread of the virus.

“Our members are ever ready to contribute in the war against the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the ongoing strike action and the withholding of our salaries because ASUU is sensitive and concern on issues if public health”, he said.

Earlier in his remarks, ASUU’s Chairperson, Bauchi State Branch, Dr. Muhammed Babayo, said it become imperative for his association to support the fight against COVID-19 through provision of sanitizers especially to those who have contacts with many people daily.
