All Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter, has assured of students’ safety as they learn under COVID-19 protocol.
Speaking during the 153rd congress of ANCOPSS in Abuja at the weekend, the President, Alhaji Abdulkarim Abdulrahaman, promised that principals would not relent in their efforts to adhere strictly to laid down rules and regulations to safeguard lives while inculcating and sustaining quality teaching and learning culture in FCT schools.
He reminded the principals of their strategic roles to position the schools through good administrative processes of transparency and accountability, advising them to ensure only approved charges are collected from students.
He also urged his colleagues to guide against practices that are capable of tarnishing their image, especially in this era of admissions to different classes.
He stressed appropriate school discipline for both staff and students, adding that they need to be vigilant and checkmate students’ tendency for vices such as drug abuse, cultism, rape, dressing patterns, and their unruly conduct.
