The Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) has said the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (KG-CARES), a World Bank project, is being targeted to revive the business of over 5,000 beneficiaries that was ravaged by the global pandemic.
The Managing Director of KEDA, Hajia Rakiya Sani, dropped the hint during a town hall meeting of trade unions at the weekend in Lokoja.
She stated that KG-CARES Result Area 3 programme under KEDA is a state-level intervention that seeks to mitigate the local effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kogi State.
The Managing Director of KEDA, who was represented by its Executive Director of Operations, Akin Akinola, stated that the agency was positioned to support the recovery of local economic activities, especially among Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the state.
While the Agency urged prospective applicants to register via a provided link to access the fund, the Managing Director added that the grant is open to all in the state without bias in religion, politics, ethnicity, or regional setting.
He stated that 40 per cent each has been allocated to the men and women group, while 10 per cent each was allocated to youth and people living with disability in the intervention programme.
