Tests have confirmed eight new coronavirus infections in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said on Saturday, raising the national total to 89.

Seven are in Lagos, pushing the state’s total to 59–the biggest cluster for any Nigerian state.

The other is the first to be recorded in Benue.

Abuja’s 14 cases on record is second only to Lagos.

Ogun and Oyo have recorded three each, two in Enugu, Edo and Bauchi, and one each in Ekiti, Osun and Rivers.
