A team of doctors with twins delivered by a COVID-19 patient in LUTH, Lagos
An expectant mother who was diagnosed with COVID-19 has been delivered of twins at University of Lagos Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
This news was posted on LUTH’s official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The tweet added that the 22-year-old COVID-19 patient was delivered through cesarean section by a team doctors, anaesthetists and nurses.
The statement read, “A team of LUTH doctors, anesthetists and nurses today, Tuesday 19th May, 2020, delivered the fourth expectant mother (22 years old) diagnosed with COVID-19 of a (set of) twins (3.2kg and 3.25kg for girl and boy respectively) through a Cesarean Section.”
This, according to the hospital, is the fourth expectant mother to give birth at the isolation centre.
However, the hospital’s official handle indicated that the twins (a boy and a girl) are in good condition.
“The mother and babies are doing well. Once again, we celebrate our committed frontline staff for this achievement.
