COVID-19: UNFPA donates PPE to 33 health facilities in Ogun

The United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to health workers working in 33 health facilities across three LGAs of Ogun State, as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the COVID- 19 pandemic.

The life-saving equipment was provided under the UNFPA CSOE COVID-19 Response Project.

The equipment, which contains examination gloves, long surgical gloves, facemasks and safety eye goggles would be distributed to health workers in Abeokuta South,  Sagamu and Ado Odo Ota LGA, to help protect themselves from the deadly virus.

The State Chairperson of Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), which is the implementing partner, Mrs Tayo Ladejobi,  handed over the equipment to the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola.

The PPFN Program Officer in the State, Mrs Omotayo Adeyemo, who said the donation was part of the second round of distribution, explained that the gesture was part of efforts in supporting the state government in fighting the scourge.
