A West African group, Coalition against COVID-19 in Africa (CACinAf), has urged the Kano State Governor Umar Ganduje to sustain his efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Coordinator of the group, John Kumasi Attah, disclosed this via a letter sent to the governor, following an agreement by the group’s executives after a virtual meeting held yesterday.

“We can see how Kano State is leading in this fight. We knew many strategic ways of COVID-19 response were copied from Kano State. Such things include boundary closure, inclusion of traditional institutions, training and re-training of health workers, till when the state became the Training Centre for the Northern Nigeria, among many other things”, part of the letter said.

CACinAf further urged Ganduje to “keep the good effort up” in the overall interest of the people.
