COWA gets secretariat in Abuja

The Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA) yesterday commissioned its secretariat in Abuja 15 years after it was formed.

Speaking at the event, the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, who was represented by the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services, Festus Okun, said, “The service will embark on construction of COWA facili-ties nationwide and also ensure that the undocumented property of the association all over the country are documented appropriately to avoid legal actions.”

In her remarks, the COWA President and wife of the CGC, Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, noted that the association had been without a secretariat in its over 15 years of existence, adding that, “The facility, which enables the physical co-location of COWA executives and staff, will also sup-port to undertake carefully designed welfare programmes that will contribute to national devel-opment.”
