The Cross River State government has created an encoded data bank  to track all commercial vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles and their operators as a way of curbing crimes in the state.

Jude Ngaji, Security Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade, who disclosed this in Calabar yesterday, said the operators have filled security forms where they provided their particulars in detail, adding that it would help facilitate tracking of culprits.

“We are being proactive, knowing that these criminal activities happen around us every day, we need to curb them,” he said, adding that the state government would handle the cost implications of registering and giving codes to the commercial vehicles.
