The embattled chairman, Habibu Yau, and his secretary and treasurer, Mannir Garwa and Musa Wamba, respectively, were said to have mobilised 13 political parties to support the PDP candidate, a development that did not go down well with other members of the council.
Some of the parties that did not support the endorsement among which were Labour Party, National Conscience Party and 10 others, met and passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership, serving the leaders with impeachment notice.
A copy of the impeachment notice made available to our correspondent and signed by chairmen of 13 parties, said they have resolved to constitute an interim leadership under Shafi’u Birchi and Abdulmumin Sani, in line with the national code of conduct of IPAC.
