According to Hon Etta, the law stipulates that the INEC should give a minimum of 60 days from when election time table is made public to date of election. The ACN chairman thus expressed worry why an electoral body that is supposed to protect the law is rather breaking it. He reacted further; “who will be injured if April 14thdate stands?”

In reaction to a question whether the Cross River branch of the ACN will boycott the election if INEC insists on the new date of February 25, Hon. Etta said they will participate in the election but go to court later to seek redress. Some of the placards urged INEC to “have a rethink and restore April 14th date.”
