The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on the FCT and its neighboring states to adopt modern crime-fighting techniques to combat cross-border crimes.

Wike made the call at the 10th G-7 Security Summit, organized by the FCT Administration in Abuja to enhance security in the FCT and its contiguous states.

He said such crimes are already threatening Abuja and its neighbors.

Represented by the Head of Service, FCTA, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, Wike noted that in a rapidly evolving world, criminals have adapted and exploited technological advancements to further their illicit activities.

He highlighted the need for a dynamic approach, including synergy and joint operations, to overcome the exploits of these individuals.

Speaking earlier, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, said the G-7 security summit was conceived with the vision of tackling cross-border crimes in all their manifestations, including the challenges of kidnapping, banditry, car snatching, and human trafficking within the FCT and its contiguous states.
