This is even as he confirmed that 23 of the 25 state constituencies were won by the PDP including the seat of the All Progressive Congress (APC) member, Mr Alex Irek, who sought re-election to represent Obubra 1 in the State House of Assembly.
Mr Ezeani said due to irregularities and violence, elections were cancelled in  four  polling  units in Mkpani  ward  in Yakurr Local Government Area where two  persons were killed in electoral violence.
In Biakpan, in Biase Local Government Area, the results in the entire units  of the ward were  cancelled following the snatching of ballot papers  and thumb printing of  same which were rejected by the Returning Officer. The REC said the results of the units cancelled could swing the outcome of the election on either the side of the Labour Party, LP,  candidate or that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“We would have gone ahead and  announced  the result but the votes in each of the areas cancelled when added to the total votes  scored by the two leading candidates  in each contest could swing the outcome on either side so we have to  conduct elections in those units were results have been cancelled,” he said.
