A crowdfunding platform quickraiz to connect donors and philanthropists to charities is set for launch.

Bayo Adeokun, managing director of Ativo, the firm behind the platform, says quickraiz is to make the benevolence of many Nigerians and philanthropists around the world seamlessly felt and accessed as more and more people are willing to give.

A subsidiary of e-payplus, Ativo is in talks with Lagos state government to raise funds for victims of a tanker explosion in June, which killed 12 people and destroyed 54 vehicles.

Donations on the crowdfunding platform can go to several causes, like emergency and disaster support, Alumni association contribution, charity, education and internally displaced people.

Donors can release their identities stay anonymous. The platform also displays how much money is generated for each campaign over time.

Adeokun said quickraiz is strictly for charity, not an investment.

"We are deploying technology to make it simple for everybody. We have created an ecosystem of people that have financial needs and we are going  to have a register of philanthropists and registered foundations that are willing to support various causes,” he said.

"We are set to transform this culture into a digital environment where benevolence reach is extensive and all encompassing.”
