The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Katsina State has commended the state government for putting the state budget online aimed at promoting public participation and accountability.
Abdulrahman Dutsinma who heads Budget Awareness Initiative, a key budget pressure group in the coalition, said that for long the CSOs had been advocating such practice.
“The present administration must be commended for doing this in line with its pledge to have an open government where everybody would have access to financial transactions of the government. We hope the government will cap it all by making the accountant general and auditor general reports online as well,” he said.
