The coalition said in a statement issued in Abuja that Ikenya’s nomination was well thought out, describing him as an embodiment of good democratic culture as well as a bridge builder.
The coalition comprised National Youth Coalition for Good Governance, Taraba State Chapter; Muri Citizens Association; PDP Fan Club Worldwide; Taraba State Students leaders Forum; Central Zone Movement for Better Democracy and National Youth Council of Nigeria Taraba State chapter, whose leaders including Engr. Ertyo Shaakaa, Abdulmajid Khalid, Abdulahi Sani, Musa Jubril Umar Stephen Adam and Mary Stephen respectively endorsed Ikenya.
“As loyal PDP groups, grassroots mobilizers, upholders of the true tenets of democracy who strongly believes in the principles of mutual coexistence and development as a collective responsibility of the people, it is our believe that with the nomination of Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, Taraba State will become more united, the southern zone especially will regain and meet up with the other two zones and moreover, the chances of our party’s victory in the state,” they said.
While urging President Jonathan and PDP leadership to disregard a petition against Ikenya’s nomination, the group said the petitioners were only out for mischief.
