The Human and Environmental Development Agenda Resource Centre, Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC) and the SaharaReporters have launch an online platform “Flight Justice” to raise the standard and safety of Nigerian air travellers.

A statement on Tuesday by the CSNAC Director Olanrewaju Suraj said the online platform is aimed at documenting complaints of air travelers who have been subjected to inconveniences by both local and international airlines in the country.

“It will also address the recklessness of airlines in the arbitrary delay and cancellation of flights with impunity, a very worrisome phenomenon peculiar to Nigeria,” Suraj said. “Interested members of the public and Organisations are invited for lawful local and international civil actions in the interest victims of what is now a daily reoccurrence, costing passengers unquantifiable losses in goodwill and resources on http://www.hedang.org/flightjustice.”

He said there is obviously collapse of monitoring and sanction responsibilities on the part of government agencies and that the online platform will address the underpinned issues through advocacy and also litigation to press for charges against both the defaulting airlines and responsible government agency where negotiation fails.
