Ten suspected members of a secret cult, Vikings or Arrow Bag, have been arrested by the police in Lagos.

The police team also recovered from the gang three locally made revolver pistols, one battle axe and two ammunitions.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, said it was the arrest of Chidubem Nwachukwu, 27, that led to the arrest of the others.

Edgal disclosed that on April 8, 2018, at about 10.45pm, a team of policemen attached to Amukoko Police Division, while on patrol, intercepted the said suspect whom they reasonably suspected was up to something criminal.

He said on searching the suspect, one locally made revolver pistol was recovered from him.

He said: “The case was later transferred to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) for further investigation. During interrogation the suspect confessed that he was a member of the Arrow Bags or Vikings.

“He led the detectives to arrest other members of the gang. The following exhibits were recovered from them: one locally made revolver pistol, one locally made single barrel gun, one expended 7mm ammunition, one battle axe and one arrow bag or Vikings beret with logo,” he said.

He said all the suspects would soon be charged to court.
