Suspected cultists have reportedly killed an unidentified man, yesterday, in an abandoned market in Abuja.
It was gathered that the deceased was dragged by his killers to a location referred as “No go area” in the abandoned market in Deidei on the edge of the capital city.
While it was not clear the circumstances surrounding his death, it was observed that there were wounds around his neck and leg probably from a knife attack.
During a visit to the area with a team of policemen from Gwagwa division of the FCT command, assisted by some volunteers, the corpse of the deceased was recovered from a river near the market where he was suspected to have been dumped after being killed.
The policemen, who arrived the area around 11am trailed the blood from a location believed to be the scene of the crime before arriving at the river where the body was sighted floating in the water.
The Divisional Police Officer of Gwagwa, SP Salman Manjo, said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at Kubwa General Hospital morgue, and that investigation had commenced to arrest the culprits.
