Cultural Activist Honoured By Anambra Community In US

A global cultural activist and sports enthusiast, Dr. Krystal Chanchangi, has been honoured by indigenes of Oraifite, Anambra State living in the United States of America under the aegis of Oraifite Citizens in USA (OCUSA).

The honour was conferred on her on Friday during the 2024 convention of the group which held in Houston Texas ,United States.

The town union seek to collectively use its resources, education, life experiences in the U.S. to impact positively the welfare of its home community both in the US and at Anambra.

Dr. Chanchangi who was the keynote speaker at the convention highlighted the need to uphold the culture of the community and empowering Nigerian youths in America as well as investing in the home front.

She also spoke to kids at the event and the youths on the need to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and in their home community as well.

The honour is not unconnected with her accelerated campaign for enhanced capacity development of young people, especially in the area of education.

Earlier in the month, she visited Community Secondary School Oraifite in advancement of her campaign for empowerment of next generation with quality education.

During her visit on July 3, she handed educational supplies to the school management for distribution to the exciting students.

Also during the convention on Friday she announced a donation of undisclosed amount of money which will be invested towards payment of fees of the students at home.

Two weeks ago, she also donated some cooling systems to the school to enhance a conducive atmosphere of teaching and learning.

She thanked the town union for the conferment of the award, especially the President General USA, Engr. Harrison Ufondu and his team for according recognition to her efforts in driving development in their community through education and capacity building.

Also present at the 3 day event were Patrick “Butch” Chukwkelu (Houston based Attorney), Vin Dike – President-General of Orifite Town Union – and others.

Amb. Dr. Chanchangi’s mother hails from Oraifite, whose both parents are from same Anambra community.
