Speaking on Wednesday on the institute`s forthcoming national conference with the theme “Culture, Peace and National security the role of Traditional Rulers and Chairmen of Local Government,” Ayokoroma explained that “there is a cultural dimension to bring peace to our communities”.

He added that traditional rulers are in the best position and are seen as the best collaborators that government can use to curtail insecurity in the country, owing to the fact that they have the best intelligence on their subjects.

Ayakoroma maintained that government is looking in that direction because of the security situation in the country.

“People will rather remain poor rather than kill to make money, nowadays; people take pride in getting money from criminal activities to get chieftaincy titles,” he said.

The  2- day national conference is scheduled to hold between the 7th-8th of May and is expected  to be attended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo,  Minister of Culture and Tourism  Edem Duke,   Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and traditional rulers across the country.
