The cleric who was speaking recently in a Sunday sermon titled: obedience in paying your tithes, admonished Christian faithful to pay their tithes only from proceeds of genuine and godly businesses as tithes paid from proceeds of dubious and ungodly businesses are abominable before God and will only attract curses rather than blessings.

In his words: “it is common these days to see armed robbers and thieves come to church with fat tithes and offerings for thanksgiving, after successful operations. This is an abomination and totally unacceptable before God. Payment of tithe is holy unto God and it should be used for his holly purposes alone, not for other purposes.”

Citing from the books of Genesis 14: 18 – 20, Hebrews 7: 4 and Malachi 3:7-9, pastor Ololade established the biblical basis for the payment of tithes saying: it is a biblical doctrine; a command by God; and one of the teachings of the prophets.

The pastor also assured Christians of the assurance of reaping the blessings and scriptura promises that goes with tithing, if the do it in truth and in spirit.
