Customs bust new smuggling trend, intercepts N10m illegal drug

Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Kano/Jigawa Command has yesterday alerted that smugglers have now devised new smuggling trend of using private vehicles with tinted glasses in smuggling banned goods and illegal drugs into the country.

Displaying over 800 bags of rice, 4 drums of illicit solution known as “suck and die” and several cartons of Tramadol 225mg drug worth over N10million conveyed in 6 tinted cars and 2 trucks, Kano/Jigawa area Comptroller, Yusuf Abbah Kassim, stated that, the interception was made along Babura-Jeke road in Jigawa State.

He added that, the market value of the intercepted items stands at over N30 million and that it was apparent the smugglers were keen in carrying their act which he said the service wouldn’t relent in ensuring that they didn’t succeed.
