The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has resolved the technical issue that affected the transmission of Product Certificates for Form M and SONCAP required for PAAR processing on the B’Odogwu platform.

Importers and licensed customs agents had raised the alarm regarding delays which they experienced in the transmission of product certificates required for PAAR processing on the B’Odogwu platform.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in May 2025, acknowledged the difficulties being experienced since the implementation of the new Customs Unified Management Information System, also known as B’Odogwu, emphasising that such issues were anticipated.

PAAR is a mandatory document required for all imports into Nigeria. It is an electronic report submitted prior to arrival that details the goods being imported, their value, and other relevant information. This helps expedite the clearance process at the port.

The National Public Relations Officer of NCS, Assistant Comptroller of Customs (ACC) Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, in a statement on Thursday, disclosed that the technical issue has been fully resolved, and that the transmission of PAAR certificates has been restored. 

Maiwada stated that the NCS apologized for the inconvenience caused by the glitch and assured traders and stakeholders that measures have been put in place to prevent such occurrences in the future.
