The Nigeria Customs Service, Sokoto Area Command, has intercepted 1,198 unregistered drugs.
Handing over thedrugs to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control on Wednesday, the Area Comptroller, Musa Omale, warned smugglers to desist from the act as the command was battle-ready to curtail their nefarious deeds.
He further said, “Importation of pharmaceutical drugs through the land border is not allowed.
“The service streamlines the importation of all pharmaceutical drugs through designated sea ports and they are only cleared after meeting the pre-requisite documentationn.”
Receiving the items, the state Coordinator of NAFDAC, Garba Adamu, thanked the service for the unwavering synergy and collaboration towards safeguarding the lives and health of Nigerians.
