The Nigeria Customs Service said, on Wednesday, that it’s personnel have intercepted 39 vehicles with fake UNICEF and NNPC stickers as they were being smuggled into the country through the borders.

Some of the vehicles intercepted included those conveying contraband goods.

Deputy Comptroller of Customs Baba Kura Kolobe, who is the Coordinator Northern Zone of Controller-General Strike Force, disclosed this while showing the vehicles to journalists in Kaduna.

“Our men succeeded in intercepting 5,600 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg, 1,953 bales of second hand clothing, 1,095 jerry cans of vegetable oil (25 litres) and ‎39 vehicles including those smuggled through the land borders popularly referred to as Tokumbo,” he said.

He also said the total Duty Paid Value (DPV) is ‎N367,235,139.
