Gunmen numbering about 20 on Tuesday night ambushed a customs patrol team in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, killed one officer and abducted another and went away with a service rifle.
Customs officers of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, comprising Lagos and Ogun states, were on patrol when they were ambushed, hence making the killing the second in a month.
The (FOU), Zone A’s spokesman, Theophilus Duniya, who confirmed the incident, said effort was on to rescue the abducted officer.
Mr Duniya said, “Some suspects have been arrested and are being interrogated. Those found culpable would be prosecuted.”
