Customs retain Maritime Cup title

The NCS won Micura Services Limited 2-1 to retain the trophy they also won last year.

NCS scored its two goals at the 29th and 57th minutes of the game, while Micura scored the consolation goal in the 70th minute.

In the third place match, Sifax Group defeated Nigerian Shippers’ Council by a lone goal to emerge the bronze medalists.

Other award winners in the competition include Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics (LADOL), who won the Fair Play Award donated by APM Terminals Apapa Limited; GAC Shipping Nigeria Limited won the Best Behaved Team award, while the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) won the award for the team with the highest goals.

Segun Adeniyi of Customs won the Most Valuable Play award, while Customs’ goalkeeper, Charles Ahur won the Best Goalkeeper.

The highest individual goal scorer award went to Mike Henry of Dominion Divine Freight.

This year’s competition had a total 16 teams battling for the maritime trophy in four groups.
