The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone D in Bauchi State has seized contraband worth N42.12 million in various operations and locations within a span of four months. The Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit, Zone D, Peters Olugboyega, disclosed this in Bauchi and that the seizures were made between February 1 and May 7, 2019.
He said the seizures included a truck carrying 700 cartons of foreign spaghetti and 500 bags of 50kgs foreign rice re-bagged in 250 jumbo bags of 100kg along Darazo-Bauchi Road.
Similarly, the comptroller said the operatives of the unit on March 5, 2019, seized 180 bags of 50kg foreign rice along Darazo-Bauchi Road with a total Duty Paid Value of N2,592,000.
