Czech Ambassador to Nigeria Mr Pavel Mikes who opened the office in Abuja said the trade volume between both countries have grown to about €100 million.
The ambassador expressed readiness of his country to improve the trade statistics noting that textile, technical education, tropical agriculture and technology transfer were some of the areas his government would collaborate with Nigeria.
Pavel also assured that credible businessmen who wished to visit Czech Republic for business would be granted visas without delays.
The envoy reiterated the desire of his country to sustain an interface between its institutions of higher learning and Nigerian universities and use the students’ exchange programme to popularise her education system in Nigeria.
Chairman of the Council, Mr Mohammed Dahiru, also informed that many technical schools in Nigeria have benefitted from equipment donated by the Czech government.
He revealed that at the moment an MoU on vocational training for Nigerians was being signed by both countries.
