Chairman of the Board of Trustfund Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme, who paid glowing tributes to the new managing director, extolled her tenacity, dedication to details, intelligence and friendliness with her staff.
“The MD has ran the affairs of Trustfund very well in these last two years. The board was convinced that she has done enough and she merits this appointment. As revealed by the annual financial report, the PFA has brought smiles to the faces of the stakeholders that include labour unions, employer association, NSITF, insurance company and banks.
“We know how critical the labour movement is and its employers’ association. For these critical bodies to agree to the confirmation of Mrs. Da-Souza tells the merit of the appointment,” she said.
The performance of the management led by Mrs Da-Souza posted profit after tax, which rose from N534.69million in 2011 to N788.52 million. Trustfund declared dividend pay-out of N230 million that translates to 23Kobo per N1 share compared to 15Kobo in 2011 at its annual general meeting in Abuja at the weekend.
Speaking on her confirmation, Mrs. Da-Souza, expressed appreciation to the board members for the confidence they showed in her leadership.
“I feel very excited and elated that this has happened. I promise that with the support of the management team and the board, this is just the beginning of exciting times. The major challenge we have had to grapple with in the last year is the customer relationship management.
We are going to focus on that with my team to make sure that our customers are thrilled and satisfied with our services. Our aim to turn our customers into Ambassadorial marketers,” she said.
The operating income of the PFA was N3.308 billion for the year ended, which represented 52.44% increase over the 2011 figure of N2.170billion.
