An Ikeja magistrates’ court, on Thursday, ordered the remand of a 40-year-old man, Peter Udoh, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his nine-year-old daughter.

The police charged Udoh and his neighbour, Chi Abellega (44), with defilement and sexual molestation.

The Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, did not take the pleas of Idoh and Abellega for want in jurisdiction, so ordered the police to return their file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice, and adjourned to August 25.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the suspects committed the offence between April and July.

Akeem said that a leader in the community reported the case at the police station.

He also said that the victim confirmed that she had been molested by her father and his friend. (NAN)
