Daily Trust Newspaper has been awarded with the most supporting newspaper of the year award at the maiden edition of K-City Entertainment Industry (KCEI) award night held in the ancient city of Kano.

The award night according to chairman of the organizing team Femi Aje popularly known as Cool Phemzy is organised to promote the Kano state entertainment industry which has been contributing greatly in the development of entertainment sector of the country.

He added that, the award night is also aimed at showcasing the ocean of talented youths in the state who have excelled in their chosen field in the entertainment industry.

Speaking on the reason behind the award to daily Trust, Cool Phemzy stated that, the award given to Daily Trust was in recognition to the newspaper’s unquantifiable contribution in the promotion of young local artists who were virtually given less priority in the media circle.

“Daily Trust has been given local artists a sense of belonging and encouragement for quite a long time. Let me state here that, without Daily Trust most of our artist especially from this axis wouldn’t have been known today,” said Cool Phemzy.

During the award, Mhiz Ojeez won the outstanding show promoter of the year in the female category, while Entertainment Philanthropist of the year award went to Engineer Jubril Ahmed.

Several artistes and media houses won at various category stages in the maiden edition of KCEI awards.
