The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT chapter, has named Daily Trust Sports Editor, Mr. David Ushahemba Ngobua, the Best Sports journalist (print) in the Federal Capital Territory.

The award ceremony was held yesterday at the VIP Lounge of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja to mark the end of the 2021 FCT Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Week which started on Monday, December 6. 

The award is in recognition of his professional competence and exemplary behaviour as one of the leading sports journalists in the FCT.

This is the second time he is winning this prestigious award. He first won it in 2012 in the same category.

In his reaction, Ngobua dedicated the award to his organisation, Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust newspaper and other titles, for providing him with a big platform and the enabling environment to excel.

“I am grateful to God almighty and Media Trust Limited for making this possible. I dedicate this award to God, my colleagues in Daily Trust and sports enthusiasts around the world.

“When one is recognized by his professional colleagues, it simply means he is truly the best. I am motivated by this award to continue to strive for excellence in my chosen field,” he said.
