The Kano State Dairy Cooperative has revealed that in its bid to facilitate effective and adequate milk and yogurt production in the state, the Cooperative has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RIF Agro Nigeria limited as a step forward in boosting dairy production.
This was disclosed by the President of Kano Dairy Cooperative, Alhaji Usman Abdullah, during the official signing of the MoU.
According to him, the MoU will add weight to the already existing relationship between the cooperative and the agro firm, adding that the firm had been assisting in areas of member’s capacity building as already an agreement was reached to train 200 members on various skills.
Similarly, the Managing Director of the firm, Malam Lawan Rabiu Musa, revealed that the initiative is in line with RIF Agro Nigeria Limited to create jobs among the youths as well as to boost the state’s revenue base.
Earlier in his welcome address, the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Dr Danjuma Mahmud expressed the willingness of the state government to support and assist non-governmental organisations to achieve success in agriculture.
The Commissioner, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Salisu Dan Azumi Tahir, explained that the government has already mapped out plans aimed at meeting the agricultural yearnings and aspirations of citizens of the state.
