Civil servants in Nasarawa State have been enjoined to redouble their efforts toward the development of the state.

The Head of Service, Mr Nicholas Aboki, made the call at the award presentation ceremony to 120 staff of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) at Abacha Youth Centre, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

He said: “I am happy with the expansion work being undertaken and the upgrade of the hospital. I am assuring workers of the determination of the government to inject more manpower in the hospital for effective service delivery.”

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of DASH, Dr Ikrima Hassan, reiterated the state government’s commitment to making health care services affordable and accessible for people of the state, adding that was why the state has been upgrading the hospital with modern equipment like C-Scan and offices for consultants.

The former CMD of the hospital, Dr. Joseph Ogbere, used the occasion to call on the management of the hospital to accord priority to training and retraining of health workers for effective service delivery.

In his goodwill message, Sarkin Azara, Dr Kabir Musa, called on other health workers to emulate the exemplary hard work of the awardees, adding that with the level of upgrade being done in the hospital, it will soon be a referral centre in the North Central zone.

One of the awardees, Dr James Achege, said presenting the workers with awards has motivated them to put more effort in the job of saving lives.
