The launch of 1000 Damau milk project in Damau, Kubau local government last week Friday, by his excellency the  governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai is a welcome development. The project, which is a joint venture between the state government, and Danish dairy giant Arla and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, will help to produce high quality milk and reduce over-reliance on imported milk.

The siting of such gigantic project in Kubau local government is timely. The local government is home of grains and cattle rearing. It is a food basket of Kaduna State. Its famous Anchau and Pambegua markets have continued to attract numerous customers within and outside the country. It is estimated that transactions worth millions of naira are carried out in those markets monthly.

With the launch of the milk farm project which will have modern facilities such as school, hospital and security outpost, the local government will have cause to smile. The initiative will provide jobs for our teeming unemployed youths and revenues to the local government. As stated by the governor, the project is meant for every tribe in the state and will be extended to other grazing reserves across the state. Let me on behalf of the good people of Kubau LGA express my appreciation for the laudable project.

Kubau local government has benefited greatly from the administration of Governor El-Rufai since it came on board. The rehabilitation of Dutsen-Wai-Anchau road, the renovation of Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) across the 11 wards, and building of Pambegua Girls Science boarding School to mention but a few.

The provision of such basic amenities in Kubau Local Government Area does not come to us as a surprise. The local government is home to APC and the executive governor. The local government will continue to support the policies and programmes of this administration to logical conclusion.
