Dangote Group of Companies has donated N50 million to the Nasarawa State government to enable assistance to victims of the recent attacks on border communities of Benue and Nasarawa states.
President of the Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, made the donation in a message by Managing Director of Dangote Sugar, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, during a courtesy visit to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura at the Government House Lafia.
He said the donation was in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility and that the group will continue to support the visionary leadership of the governor in all ways possible to achieve total peace in the state.
Governor Al-Makura appreciated the group for commiserating with the government and people of the state and assured of his continued commitment to the peace and development of Nasarawa State.
He used the forum to announce his acceptance of the apology tendered by his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom, who had alleged that the attackers of his state were being harboured in Nasarawa State.
