The four-day National Agric show ending today was put together by the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria, NFAN, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The online statement from Dangote Group said the sponsorship reflects Dangote’s determination to grow Nigeria’s agricultural sector, adding that the gesture was to support government’s agricultural reform effort.

It said Dangote Group is a major contributor to agric business in Nigeria given its huge investments in agro-allied companies cutting across textile, sugar, tomato and fertilizer among others.
The statement said the theme of the seventh edition of the annual national agricultural show which is, “Promoting Agribusiness Investment for Job and Wealth Creation and Sustainable Food Security,” is timely, considering the transformation agenda of the federal government in the area of food security.
It said Dangote Savannah Sugar alone employs about 20,000 people indirectly and farmers outgrowers, while it projection of producing up to one million tons from 16,000 tons will lead to the employment of additional 50,000 Nigerians by 2015 across six states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa, Taraba, Kogi and Kwara respectively.
