The Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, has urged newly admitted students to maintain discipline, obey university rules and steer clear of social vices as they begin their academic journey.
Yakasai gave the advice during the institution’s 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony held at the Convocation Arena, where 2,502 students were admitted into various undergraduate programmes.
In a statement by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Affairs, Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, the Vice Chancellor cautioned students against drug abuse, examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct capable of jeopardising their future.
He described admission into the university as a rare privilege that must be matched with dedication, discipline and academic focus.
“You must be good ambassadors of your parents and guardians. Avoid social vices and commit yourselves to your studies so you can graduate with distinction,” he said.
Yakasai added that matriculation signifies not only formal admission but also acceptance of the institution’s values, ethics and code of conduct.
He recalled that the university, established in 2001 with just two faculties and 85 students, has grown to six faculties, 45 undergraduate programmes and a student population of 28,607, alongside postgraduate studies.
