Daniel Osang was honoured with the Crest Africa Award for Civic Technology Impact on December 7, 2025, recognising his growing contribution to the development of digital platforms that strengthen civic participation, transparency, and data-driven public engagement. His work reflects a new wave of technology professionals applying product thinking and growth strategy to solve governance and accountability challenges at scale.

As Product and Growth Lead at Citizen Monitors, Daniel has played a defining role in building a civic-tech platform designed to enable citizens to document and verify election results and incidents in real time. From early concept development through to deployment, he has co-led product strategy, coordinated cross-functional teams, and ensured that platform capabilities are aligned with real-world usability and trust requirements.

Under his leadership, the platform introduced critical features such as GPS-stamped uploads, live collation dashboards, and structured peer review systems. These capabilities were tested during a nationwide digital mock election, which recorded over 1,000 verified uploads and achieved a 92 percent upload success rate, demonstrating both technical resilience and strong user engagement across diverse environments.

Daniel’s approach is grounded in continuous improvement and data-informed execution. By leading pilot and beta testing initiatives across multiple Nigerian states, he has used direct user feedback and performance analytics to refine system functionality, improve user experience, and strengthen platform reliability in complex civic contexts.

Before transitioning fully into product leadership, Daniel built a solid foundation in digital training and programme delivery with organisations such as Kinetic Associates and Haptics Nigeria. His experience supporting large-scale digital skills initiatives across Africa has shaped his ability to design inclusive systems, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and drive adoption of digital tools.
