In a bid to boost youth development and talent discovery in Nigeria, a former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, is sponsoring a landmark football tournament to showcase young Nigerian talent to international scouts.

The tournament scheduled for October 23-24 at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan offers aspiring footballers a unique opportunity to secure professional contracts that could change their lives and uplift their communities.

Scouts from Israel, Romania, Egypt, and top clubs like Real Madrid and Rayo Alcobendas will be in attendance.

The tournament reflects Dare’s commitment to nurturing sports talent in Nigeria and creating life-changing opportunities for youth development.

Organizers emphasized the event’s significance in empowering communities and opening global doors for Nigerian athletes.

It will be recalled that Dare recently cautioned Nigerian youths against hitting the streets to protest the pervasive economic hardship.

In an X chat with youths, the ex-minister said some persons are still living with the scars of the 2020 #EndSARS protest while advising the protesters not to hit the streets without an identifiable leadership capable of negotiating terms with the government.

Dare said without organisation, the protest could be hijacked by unscrupulous people with sinister objectives.
