High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike (KSC), Pioneer President of the De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), has been honoured with the Humanitarian Lifetime Impact Award at the Nigerian Humanitarian Awards 2025.

The award, organised by the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation in collaboration with Nigerian Humanitarian Awards & Magazine, recognises individuals and organisations for outstanding service in humanitarian work and nation-building.

Nwabunike, also known as Ichie Eze Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku n’Anwu Ojoto, was recognised for his interventions in education, healthcare, empowerment, and community development. According to the organisers, he has provided scholarships and support to over 750 students and plans to extend the programme to 10,000 university students. He has also funded rural health facilities, maternity wards, and medical outreaches, while supporting widows and vulnerable groups through empowerment initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Nwabunike dedicated the award to members of DIPF and the communities served by the organisation. “This award is not about me; it is about the lives we have touched and the lives we are yet to reach. It is a call to do more, to serve more, and to ensure that no one is left behind,” he said.

The organisers noted that Nwabunike’s work has impacted thousands in South-Eastern Nigeria and other parts of the country, with a long-term vision of reaching one million people within the next decade.
