Nigerian Singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has commenced his much-awaited North American tour.

The award-winning singer has premised the tour on ‘We rise by lifting others’ campaign.

While speaking with Trevor Noah, the daily show on ‘We rise by lifting others Tour,’ Davido revealed that his latest song, ‘Stand Strong’ was aimed at challenging himself.

“I wanted to challenge myself. That’s why I did, ‘Stand Strong,’” he said.

The Tour, which was slated to hold in five cities, began with a concert in New York on Thursday night.

Davido had stated that his main aim of the North American tour was to showcase Africa in its entirety and to carry everyone along, especially Africans.

“With the tour, ‘We rise by lifting others’, it’s basically me not only bringing myself to America but also bringing everything else. African food, African fashion.

“On the tour, we are all wearing African designs. What I’m wearing was done by an African designer, Amakazbit. I’m only wearing African designers, I’m only eating African foods.”

During the concert, Davido, performed all time hits including Gobe, Dami duro, and FIA.

The tour will hold in Brooklyn, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles from the 16th to the 25th of June 2022.
